TRANSLATIONS

This webpage contains the download links for current translations of the print version of the PAR-Q+. A series of translations are also in process for different languages (see below). All translations must be approved by the PAR-Q+ Collaboration. Translated versions of the PAR-Q+ and/or ePARmed-X+ into languages other than English are intended as a courtesy to the international community.

The PAR-Q+ is available in these languages:

BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE

A Brazilian Portuguese version of the PAR-Q+ was created by a team of investigators (led by Dr. Juliano Schwartz, members of the PAR-Q+ Collaboration, and international experts (see reference below for the list of collaborators)).

The corresponding author (Dr. Yanfei Guan) would like to acknowledge the contributions of all individuals and institutions involved in the translation, cultural adaptation, and dissemination of the Chinese version of the PAR-Q+.

The initial idea for this project originated during Dr. Yanfei Guan’s doctoral study at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he participated in the early-stage translation work of the Chinese version of PAR-Q+ under the supervision of Dr. Shannon Bredin and Dr. Darren Warburton, the original developers of the PAR-Q+ and supervisors at the Cardiovascular Physiology and Rehabilitation (CPR) Laboratory. During the early phase, Dr. Qinxian Jiang (Department of Physical Education, Weifang Medical University) and Dr. Nana Wu (PhD, former member of the CPR Laboratory) also contributed to the preliminary translation work. The authors sincerely thank them for their valuable early input.

This work was then formally developed and completed as part of the master’s thesis of Ms. Huan Yang at the School of Physical Education, Yunnan University, under the supervision of Dr. Yanfei Guan through an international collaboration. Ms. Yang completed the questionnaire data collection and preparation of the initial manuscript draft.

We sincerely thank Dr. Si Chen for his substantial support on the project, particularly in coordinating expert consultations, providing statistical guidance, and contributing to manuscript revision. We also gratefully acknowledge the long-standing support and expert guidance of Dr. Zhengzhen Wang (Beijing Sport University), a prestigious leader researcher at Sports Medicine, whose extensive experience in the translation and promotion of PAR-Q+ in China greatly facilitated this initiative.

VIETNAMESE

We are sincerely grateful for the international collaboration that led to the co-creation of the Vietnamese version of the PAR-Q+.

The development of the Vietnamese version of the PAR-Q+ was led by Dr. Ngoc-Minh Nguyen (Department of Rehabilitation, School of Nursing and Medical Technology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City) and Dr. Philippe Fait (Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières), who obtained permission for the translation from the PAR-Q+ Collaboration, represented by Dr. Shannon Bredin and Dr. Darren Warburton. It was further developed as the master’s thesis of Ms. Vu Thi Huyen Trang (Department of Rehabilitation, School of Nursing and Medical Technology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City) under the academic supervision of Dr. Huynh Thi Phuong Hong (Department of Nursing, School of Nursing and Medical Technology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City) and Dr. Vo Nguyen Trung (Department of Clinical Pathology, School of Nursing and Medical Technology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City). The collaboration among these researchers ensured a rigorous translation and validation process, significantly contributing to the availability of a culturally appropriate tool for promoting safe physical activity in Vietnam.

Please note that translations of the PAR-Q+ and/or ePARmed-X+ into languages other than English are intended solely as a convenience to the non-English-reading public.

Important: Do not begin a translation of the PAR-Q+ and/or ePARmed-X+ into any foreign language(s) until you have:

  • Contacted the PAR-Q+ Collaboration and completed the relevant “Application to Translate and Validate Form“; and
  • Received formal written permission from the PAR-Q+ Collaboration to proceed with the translation.
  • Before downloading any of the translations, please read our Terms and Conditions.
  • All translation processes are overseen by the PAR-Q+ Collaboration under the direction of Dr. Shannon Bredin and Dr. Juliano Schwartz.
