The Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire for Everyone (PAR-Q+) was used as part of a research project conducted during the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.
The research was carried out by an international team of investigators working in collaboration with the late Dr. Jack Taunton (key member of the IG25 Medical Team). The project examined (in part) the application of the PAR-Q+ within a large-scale, international adaptive sport setting and explored its feasibility and appropriateness among a diverse participant population.
The PAR-Q+ is an evidence-based physical activity screening tool designed to identify individuals who may benefit from further evaluation prior to engaging in physical activity. Its inclusion in this research context reflects ongoing efforts to support safe, inclusive, and evidence-informed approaches to physical activity and exercise participation.
Research Disclaimer:
The above identified use of the PAR-Q+ at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 occurred within the context of an independent research initiative. Completion of the PAR-Q+ as part of this independent research project did not replace clinical evaluation or serve as a requirement for participation in the Invictus Games. All clinical decision-making for the Games remained the responsibility of the official Invictus Games medical services.
